Summer by the Sea
I missed yesterday, but I have an excuse for not meeting my commitment of a card a day using the retired stamp sets until 31 March. I was not feeling well and have spent most of the day on the couch!!
This is just one of the lovely stamp sets in the Summer by the Sea stamp set that will be retiring too!! This time I've used the watercolour pencils to colour and an aqua painter on water colour paper. The water colour paper is great and can absorb looks of water from the aqua painter if required to blend colour.
TAKE A LOOK BELOW AT THE FOND FAREWELL POST TO KEEP ON EYE ON THE AVAILABILITY OF THE RETIRED STAMP SETS AND PRODUCTS. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ORDER AS IT IS WHILE STOCKS LAST!!

Handmade flower!!
The flower has been created by tearing Very Vanilla Cardstock and layering the pieces. The centre of the flower is pink Chunky glitter from the Spring Mini catalogue. The double stitch ribbon is Purely Pomegranate with Regal Rose wide grosgrain underneath. The Designer Series Paper - Brocade Background will be retiring also.
The stamp sets used Baroque Motif and Basic Phrases will appear in the new 2009/10 Idea Book & catalogue.
Sorry about the colour here. Alot brighter IRL with a sparkling centre to the flower.
Don't forget to look down this page for the list of Low Quantity and Unavailable products on the Retired List. Get in before it is too late!!

Farewell - Polka Dot and Paisley
The flower has been stamped on water colour paper and coloured using Regal Rose write marker. The other flowers were inked with Regal Rose and Taken with Teal also.
If you look closely there is an embossed strip along the edge which borders the polka dots. This was created using the trimmer and bone scorer. So many options with this stamp set!!!

Bye, bye Bodacious Bouquet!!
Bodacious Bouquet is retiring, so I've used it with Brocade Background Designer Series Paper. Also I have stamped the large flower with River Rock inkpad. River Rock, one of the In Color series, will be replaced by a new range of in colors.
The row of flowers and the butterfly are from the Summer Mini catalogue stamp set Live your Dreams. Lastly there is two Old Olive felt flowers also from the Summer Mini was will finish on 31 March too.

Seaside Folder

I received some lovely gifts for Christmas, including the Seaside stamp set and the Fiskars paper trimmer from the catalogue. Here's how I used it. I have made cards and gifts cards for the inside of this card foler. The shells are stamped with Stazon on Stampin' Up watercolour paper and cut out, after colouring. The folder is Kraft A4 folded in half lengthwise and then folded up 4cm along the bottom lengthwise. I used the Crop-o-dile to punch holes and threaded Kraft taffeta ribbon which holds the cards in place on the inside.
The top of the folder has two scored lines also, though a little hard to see. To score I used the paper trimmer and ran the bone scorer down the cutting groove (slide the cutting blade to the bottom).

Summer Mini Catalogue Creations
These colours just seem to say "bring on summer" to me. They are bright and fresh, in Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie and Rose red using the Scallop square punch and the Designer Series paper Bali Breeze. The flowers from Flower fusion have a brad covered in the new Chunky Sprinkles glitter in the centre. The Lots of Dots wheel was rolled across the card in Taken with Teal.
Stampin' Write markers are still available individually until 14 December. Here the two flowers are coloured using Ruby red write marker and the blender pens. The large flower has also been coloured in the marker. This is the Embace life stamp set from the new Summer Mini. The Designer Series Paper is Ginger Blossom.
Here's another example of the Embrace Life stamp set using Soft Sky and
Old olive and the Bali Breeze Designer Series Paper.
These cards are stamped with Whisper White craft inkpad onto the black cardstock. The stamped image is sprinkled with Heat and Stick powder, heated then embossed with Dazzling Diamonds. In real life they are quite stunning. The brad is covered with Dazzling Diamonds.
Stamp sets: Merry, Merry, Brocade Motif, Season of Joy
White Taffeta ribbon is tied around the top of the cards.

Christmas Packaging party
The weekend brought on the fun of a Christmas Packaging Party. We created 6 projects including one Christmas decoration. I really enjoyed myself!
The Christmas Tree decoration was created by attaching scallop circle punch outs to 3 triangles. The pieces were tied together with Whisper White taffeta ribbon threaded through holes created by the Crop-a-dile. Photograhes and a Christmas message can be attached to the inside of the tree.
The Holiday Harmony Designer series paper was punched out after stamping some of the Season of Joy stamps in Whisper White and Purely Pomegranate.
The small star was punched out and attached to the top with Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon attached to the bottom of the tree on this panel.
The first session of the day included a Stamp-a-Stack with coordinating cards to some of the packaging items.
The Christmas tree from the Season of Joy stamp set was stamped in Always Artichoke using the generation stamping technique.
Holiday Harmony DSP was torn across the top and the snowflake stamped in Purely Pomegranate and punched out with a River rock scallop circle punch.
WINTERGREEN origami box. Two 6 inch pieces of Wintergreen Designer series paper were used to fold the lid and base of this package. A snowflake from the Snow Flurries stamp set was stamped in Sage Shadow and punched out. Always Artichoke and Soft Sky circles were also punched out and attached to another piece of the Wintergarden DSP.
Another project was a Slider box using the Dashing Designer Series Paper. The Merry Merry stamp set was used to stamp snowflakes in Real Red and Old Olive on the wrap. Old Olive wide grosgrain wrapped around the box.
The ladies received a chocolate with a lovely coordinating tag also. Some of the ladies consumed the chocolate (as I would) before it was time to fit it in the box. The 1 3/8"circle punch was used for the insert. What else would you put in this box???
Some more coordinating cards and gift certificate. The gift certicate has a brad covered in Dazzling Diamonds applied with a glue dot and looks stunning IRL.
