Christmas Packaging party

The weekend brought on the fun of a Christmas Packaging Party. We created 6 projects including one Christmas decoration. I really enjoyed myself!

The Christmas Tree decoration was created by attaching scallop circle punch outs to 3 triangles. The pieces were tied together with Whisper White taffeta ribbon threaded through holes created by the Crop-a-dile. Photograhes and a Christmas message can be attached to the inside of the tree.

The Holiday Harmony Designer series paper was punched out after stamping some of the Season of Joy stamps in Whisper White and Purely Pomegranate.

The small star was punched out and attached to the top with Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon attached to the bottom of the tree on this panel.

The first session of the day included a Stamp-a-Stack with coordinating cards to some of the packaging items.

The Christmas tree from the Season of Joy stamp set was stamped in Always Artichoke using the generation stamping technique.

Holiday Harmony DSP was torn across the top and the snowflake stamped in Purely Pomegranate and punched out with a River rock scallop circle punch.

WINTERGREEN origami box. Two 6 inch pieces of Wintergreen Designer series paper were used to fold the lid and base of this package. A snowflake from the Snow Flurries stamp set was stamped in Sage Shadow and punched out. Always Artichoke and Soft Sky circles were also punched out and attached to another piece of the Wintergarden DSP.

Another project was a Slider box using the Dashing Designer Series Paper. The Merry Merry stamp set was used to stamp snowflakes in Real Red and Old Olive on the wrap. Old Olive wide grosgrain wrapped around the box.

The ladies received a chocolate with a lovely coordinating tag also. Some of the ladies consumed the chocolate (as I would) before it was time to fit it in the box. The 1 3/8"circle punch was used for the insert. What else would you put in this box???

Some more coordinating cards and gift certificate. The gift certicate has a brad covered in Dazzling Diamonds applied with a glue dot and looks stunning IRL.

Girls Night in - In pink

These cards were prepared by the ladies at the Girls Night In on Saturday Night. Though it was a pink theme, Purely Pomegranate was used also. The stamp sets used were 'It's So Lovely' and 'Brocade Basics' with Pretty in pink inkpad and Purely pomegranate ink pad.

The night was more successful than we anticipated regarding funds raised for Breast Cancer!! Well done Glenda and ladies!!

The first card used Pixie Pink and Old Olive and the beautiful grosgrain ribbon on both. The card on the right involved creating a flower with the circle scallop punch, using Regal rose cardstock. This proved really popular with a group of ladies on the night. The Always stamp set was used for the branch effect and the Mostly Flowers set for the pretty pink squares.

Christmas here is never cool, so it's always fun to make cards that feel cooler when the summer heat starts. Pieces of scrap paper formed the window frames. A white gel highlighted the edges.
Stamp set is Merry, Merry and cardstock is Blue bayou with snowflakes in Whisper white and Not quite navy.

Workshop Creations

These are the creations from the weekend workshop. It was a great day with these and other creations from the new Spring Mini Catalogue walking out of the room.

This card uses the Always stamp set and the new Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon.

The above boxes and card are using the Tart & Tangy stamp set and Designer Series Summer Picnic double sided paper. The cardstock is Real Red and Old Olive.

The colours were admired by all, as the Designer Series paper Holiday harmony is quite stunning. The cardstock used was Always Artichoke, River Rock and Purely Pomegranate. The new Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon was also popular.

Oh, so Lovely Trees

This card started out to be a Make & Take but instead it became a gift to the hostess. How it returned home with my other cards is a mystery!!! So I thought I'd share before it returned to it's new home. I have repeatedly stamped the 'tree' in black and Always Artichoke with the shadow effect stamped in River Rock. A punched circle was sponged over and around. The sentiment was layered and wrapped with linen thread.

Watercolouring

Here the colouring is done with markers and the aqua painter on the water colour paper. It was fun and the colours moved with ease. The markers are the Earth Element colour family though the punched flower is in River Rock. The other flower is Ruby Red cardstock. Doodling on the punched out flowers is done with the chocolate chip marker

The stamp set is Scribble This.

Blurred Vision Colouring

Blurred vision colouring is usually refers to the technique of colouring a stamped image by taking the ink from the outline of image with an aqua painter. Here however I have shaded the leaf and stem with ink from the stamped image using an aqua painter to move the colour. It gives depth and interest, but alittle hard to see in this photo.

The inkpads used were Classic Old Olive and Groovy Guava with Always Artichoke for the wording.

The stamp set is Brocade Basics with Short & Sweet for the wording.

Fab Flowers

Going Gray is not the first inkpad you'd pick up to stamp a flower. Blue bayou is the background cardstock with grey taffeta ribbon and Sky blue panel of cardstock. Stamps used for polka dots is from Polka dots and paisley with wording from Short and sweet and of course the Fabulous flowers flower.
